10-Minute Garlic Parmesan Shrimp Recipe

This garlic Parmesan shrimp recipe features jumbo shrimp grilled until just pink, then tossed in a fragrant mixture of garlic, lemon, oregano, and olive oil with a finishing touch of grated Parmesan cheese. The shrimp’s firm texture balances with the bright lemon and herb flavors, resulting in a savory dish that works well as an appetizer or alongside salads and grains.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • kosher salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes to taste
  • 4 garlic crushed or minced, large cloves
  • 1/2 cup parsley optional, chopped
  • 1 lemon zested and juiced
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese more to your liking, grated

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Pat the shrimp dry and season with a big pinch of kosher salt, black pepper and red pepper flakes. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and toss to be sure the shrimp is well-coated with the oil.
  2. In a large bowl, combine garlic, parsley (if using), lemon juice and zest, 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Season lightly with salt and pepper. Whisk together.
  3. Heat a grill or indoor griddle to medium-high and lightly oil the grates. Grill the shrimp on each side until just pink (about 5 minutes or so in total, depending on the size of the shrimp).
  4. Immediately remove the shrimp from the heat and toss it in the prepared olive oil and garlic mixture. Add the parmesan cheese, then toss to coat.
  5. Transfer to a serving plate and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Prefer jumbo or larger shrimp for best texture and flavor.
  • Serve shrimp soon after cooking for optimal tenderness.
  • Leftovers keep up to 3 days refrigerated; reheat gently in a skillet.
  • Pair with light sides like Greek salad skewers or summer berry salad for a complete meal.
