- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 2 shallots diced
- 1 red pepper diced
- 4 cloves garlic chopped
- 2 habanero chiles thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 lime juiced and zested
- 1 cup basil preferably Thai basil
- 2 green onions thinly sliced
Instructions
- Add the oil to your skillet.
- Add ground beef and shallots to the skillet, and cook for about 10 minutes on medium to high heat until the meat is completely cooked.
- Add the red pepper, garlic, and chilies to the meat mixture. Continue to cook for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant, stirring.
- Slowly add the fish sauce, sugar, lime and basil. Cook for about a minute.
- Taste to make sure you like the flavor or add to correct it. Garnish with green onions and serve over jasmine rice.
