4th of July Cookies - Patriotic Cake Batter Cookies

Patriotic Cake Batter Cookies are simple to make and taste great. These festive cookies are perfect for your summer holiday parties.

Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 3 egg whites
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil
  • Red and blue food coloring

  1. First, gather all of your ingredients. You will need white cake mix, egg whites, and oil to make these delicious cookies.
  2. Preheat oven to 350º.
  3. Combine dry cake mix, eggs, and oil in a mixing bowl.
  4. Mixing until well combined. Then separate your dough into three equal sized dough balls.
  5. Set one bowl aside for the white dough.
  6. Add red food coloring to the second bowl until desired color is reached. Start with four drops then mix in your food coloring, and continue adding one drop at a time until you get the color you desire.
  7. Add blue food coloring to the third bowl until desired color is reached. Start with four drops of food coloring, then mix in your food coloring, and continue adding one drop at a time until you get the color you desire.
  8. Grab a small piece of each color of dough to form one teaspoon-sized ball.
  9. Place your cookie dough ball on a greased cookie sheet. About one inch apart.
  10. Continue with remaining dough. Until your pan is full.
  11. Bake for 7-8 minutes. Allow your cookies to cool for about three minutes on your baking sheet, and then remove from baking sheet and place on a cooling rack.
  12. Allow your cookies to cool completely on your baking rack.
  13. Once completely cooled serve and enjoy.

Notes

  • Be sure to use only egg whites. If you use egg yolks that will change the color of your cookies, making them no longer white. 
  • Store your 4th of July Cake Batter Cookies in an airtight container for up to five days.
  • Be sure to allow your Fourth of July Cake Batter Cookies to cool completely before you move them to your airtight storage container. 
  • Using food coloring gel will give you the best color results.
