Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons fajita seasoning see note
  • 4 Tablespoons lime juice fresh
  • 4 Tablespoons water
  • 2 Tablespoons neutral oil
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar optional

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. In a bowl, add all of the ingredients and whisk or stir until completely incorporated together. Or, shake them together in a jar until combined.
  2. Use as a marinade for proteins or fajita veggies. To thicken for a condiment, simmer for 3-4 minutes, or cook with fajita veggies to coat. If not using immediately, store the sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Notes

  • This recipe yields about half a cup of sauce before simmering, suitable for marinades or condiments.
  • The fajita seasoning blend combines cumin, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, smoked paprika, black pepper, and kosher salt; adjust to taste if using homemade seasoning.
  • You may increase salt or seasoning on your proteins or vegetables separately to enhance overall flavor.
  • Store unused sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
