Ingredients
- 28 oz canned diced tomatoes
- 1 tbsp light olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 cup dry Marsala wine
- 1/2 tbsp salt
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 8 fresh basil leaves
Instructions
- Gather all the ingredients for the marinara sauce. Keep in mind this sauce calls for canned tomatoes, not fresh.
- Puree the canned tomatoes in a blender or food processor. Rough chop the fresh basil.
- Preheat a large pot with some olive oil. Press some garlic into the oil and sauté it until golden brown. Add the tomatoes, marsala wine, black pepper, sugar, salt, and chopped basil.
- Bring the sauce to a boil and cook it for 5 minutes. Use the sauce for spaghetti, pizza, or as a dip for breadsticks. Enjoy!
