7 Ingredient Slow Cooker Jerk Chicken
This slow cooker jerk chicken features tender chicken thighs cooked in a blend of jerk seasoning paste, orange juice, soy sauce, and thyme. Ingredients
- 6 chicken thighs
- 2 onion peeled and roughly chopped
- 4 spring onions scallions, roughly chopped
- 3 tbsp jerk seasoning paste mild
- 80 ml orange juice 0.33 cup
- 2.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 thyme sprigs
Instructions
- *Preheat 1 tbsp oil in a frying pan over medium heat and brown the chicken on both sides for about 2 to 4 mins. Transfer the chicken into your slow cooker.
- Add the onion, spring onion, jerk seasoning paste, orange juice and soy sauce into a high-powered blender and blend into a smooth paste, before pouring the paste over your chicken and add in the thyme.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 3.5-4 hours until the chicken is cooked through, adjust seasoning before switching off the heat.
- Serve the jerk chicken stew with some rice and peas or some warm roti and enjoy.
Notes
- You can skip browning the chicken and place it directly in the slow cooker; just increase cooking time to 7-8 hours on low heat.
