Ingredients
- 1 - 2 lemons (peeled if not organic. 2-4 Tablespoons lemon juice can be used as an alternative)
- 1 1/2 cups filtered water
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 teaspoon MCT oil (or coconut oil or olive oil--see Recipe Notes for details)
- 1 teaspoon protein powder
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 generous pinches salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg (substitute mace for AIP)
- pinch clove
- 1/4 teaspoon Stevia extract (see Substitution section for other alternatives.)
- 2,000 - 4,000 mg Vitamin C powder (optional)
- 1 - 2 drops Lemon Essential Oil (optional. Please see notes in post)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Peel the rind off the lemon(s) using a sharp knife. Leave as much of the white pith as possible as it has loads of nutritional benefits. I used the whole lemon, minus the seeds, if using organic lemons.
- Slice each lemon into quarters. Remove the seeds, and place the lemon pieces into your blender. Add water and all of the remaining ingredients besides the ice cubes. Blend well.
- Place the blended mixture into a quart jar. Add ice cubes and more water to fill the jar to the top. Stir or cover with a tight lid and shake before drinking.

Notes
- MCT alternative
- MCT is a great option, but I personally have been using organic extra virgin olive oil more recently. It's easier to find, inexpensive, and there is no change in the taste.
- Adrenal Cocktail Mix - a great time saving tip
- While this drink is super easy to make, if you're like me, you're always looking to save time so you can feel better fast and do other things with you life than be in the kitchen making things.
- With that in mind, I developed this Singing Canary Dry Mix.
- Now you can mix up a bunch of the dry mix, put the wet ingredients in your blender, add the concentrate powder, and have this adrenal rescue at the ready anytime!
- Make a Double (or Triple) Batch
- No concentrate powder made yet? Never fear--you can still save time making this drink.I love this drink so much, but I don't love cleaning blenders. I often make a double batch and keep the other half in the fridge until the next day.
- To make a quadruple batch, blend up 3-4 times the ingredients with 2 servings of the water and then divide that between 2 quart jars and fill each with water.
