AIP Classic BBQ Sauce

It is cooked briefly to blend flavors and can be made ahead, stored for days, or frozen. The sauce is oil-based, preventing fat separation during storage.

- 1/4 cup coconut aminos
- 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses
- 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 3/4 teaspoon salt smoked salt is ideal
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil Avocado Oil is a good substitute
- 2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan the stovetop over medium heat.
- Cook the ingredients while stirring until it’s boiling about 3-5 minutes. This is a thick sauce so once it’s boiling, remove it from the heat otherwise you’re going to get sprayed with hot BBQ sauce.

Notes
- Make the sauce a day ahead for better flavor meld, and use within 3-5 days when refrigerated.
- The sauce freezes well for longer storage.
