Ingredients
- 1 kg (2lb) apples approximately 6-8 apples
- ¼ cup water
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- pinch of salt
For the crumble
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1 cup flour
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- pinch of salt
Instructions
- Peel the apples, remove the cores and slice into thin slices.
- Add the apple slices to a large bowl then add a splash of water, brown sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and a pinch of salt.
- Stir to mix well then transfer the apple mixture to ramekins and place in an air fryer basket.
- Air fry the apples for 15 minutes at 180ºC/350ºF until the apple are fork tender.
- While the apples are cooking make the crumble topping.
- Mix melted butter, flour, sugar and a pinch of salt together with a fork until crumbly in texture.
- Top the apples with the crumble mixture then air fry for another 10 minutes until the crumble is golden brown and crisp.
- Remove from the air fryer then serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of Greek yogurt for a healthier alternative.
