Finished with fresh lemon juice, grated Parmesan, and red chili flakes, this method delivers bright, savory, and mildly spicy asparagus with a satisfying texture. It’s a quick and convenient way to prepare a fresh vegetable side.
Ingredients
- 200 g asparagus woody ends chopped off, spears
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 pinch salt sea salt
- 2 pinch black pepper ground
- 10 g parmesan grated
- 0.5 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 0.5 lemon juice only
Instructions
- Put 200 g Asparagus spears into a bowl. Drizzle over 1 tablespoon Olive oil and add 2 pinch Sea salt and 2 pinch Ground black pepper. Mix well to coat all of the asparagus.
- Put the coated asparagus into your air fryer.
- Cook at 200°C/400°F for 8 minutes, shaking halfway through cooking.
- Serve topped with juice of 0.5 Lemon, 10 g Parmesan and 0.5 teaspoon Red chilli flakes.
Notes
- You can mix and season asparagus ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to air fry.
- Snap asparagus ends off instead of cutting; they naturally break where they get tough.
- Arrange spears in a single layer in the air fryer basket to avoid steaming and achieve crispness.
- Adjust cooking time according to the thickness of asparagus spears: thinner spears need less time.
- Add crunch by serving with crushed cashews or almonds if desired.
