Air Fryer Carrot Fries
This recipe features carrot fries seasoned with garlic powder and salt, then crisped using an air fryer with a light coating of olive oil. The result is a tender inside and a lightly crisp exterior that approaches traditional fry texture. The optional fresh parsley adds a herbal note. This alternative snack uses carrots cut as matchsticks, intended to be cooked spread apart for even crisping.
Ingredients
- 4 large carrot peeled and cut into matchsticks
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil or olive oil spray
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons parsley optional, freshly chopped
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine carrots, olive oil, garlic powder and salt and stir until combined.
- Place them in the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 to 18 minutes, stirring them halfway through cooking. Spread the out so that they don't overlap.
- Remove from the fryer and serve immediately with dipping sauces of your choice.
Notes
- Cooking the carrot fries spread out in the air fryer is crucial for better crisping.
- They might not become as crispy as oven-baked fries at high temperatures.
- Double the recipe if desired but cook in batches if your air fryer is small to avoid overcrowding.
