Air Fryer Chicken and Broccoli

This Air Fryer Chicken and Broccoli recipe uses a ginger-garlic soy marinade with hoisin and honey to coat bite-sized chicken pieces, broccoli florets, and onion slices. Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast boneless and skinless or chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/2 pound broccoli cut into florets
  • 1/2 onion thickly sliced, medium
Marinade:
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon ginger fresh, minced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce or use Tamari for Gluten Free, low sodium
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or use distilled white vinegar for Gluten Free
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon hoisin sauce
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste, ground

Instructions

  1. First, combine the marinade ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Add the chicken to one bowl and the broccoli and onion to another.
  3. Divide the marinade between the two bowls, stirring to coat the ingredients evenly.
Air Fry:
  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F.
  2. Add just the chicken to the air fryer basket in one layer and air fry for 10 minutes.
  3. Next, stir in the broccoli and onions with the chicken, and air fry for 8-11 minutes or until the chicken is cooked. Stir halfway through cooking.
  4. Serve with white or brown rice.

Notes

  • Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces to maintain tenderness and even cooking.
  • Marinate chicken and vegetables at least 10 minutes, up to 30 minutes for more flavor.
  • Watch chicken’s internal temperature; remove from air fryer when it nears 160°F.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket; arrange chicken in single layer for crispiness.
  • Keep broccoli florets loose to avoid chewiness, allowing air circulation.
