Air Fryer Chicken and Broccoli
This Air Fryer Chicken and Broccoli recipe uses a ginger-garlic soy marinade with hoisin and honey to coat bite-sized chicken pieces, broccoli florets, and onion slices. The chicken air fries first for a crispy exterior, then vegetables join for a quick finish. The combination yields tender, flavorful chicken with crisp-tender vegetables. Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken breast boneless and skinless or chicken thighs, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 pound broccoli cut into florets
- 1/2 onion thickly sliced, medium
Marinade:
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon ginger fresh, minced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoon soy sauce or use Tamari for Gluten Free, low sodium
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar or use distilled white vinegar for Gluten Free
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 1 teaspoon hoisin sauce
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste, ground
Instructions
- First, combine the marinade ingredients in a bowl.
- Add the chicken to one bowl and the broccoli and onion to another.
- Divide the marinade between the two bowls, stirring to coat the ingredients evenly.
Air Fry:
- Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F.
- Add just the chicken to the air fryer basket in one layer and air fry for 10 minutes.
- Next, stir in the broccoli and onions with the chicken, and air fry for 8-11 minutes or until the chicken is cooked. Stir halfway through cooking.
- Serve with white or brown rice.
Notes
- Cut chicken into 1-inch pieces to maintain tenderness and even cooking.
- Marinate chicken and vegetables at least 10 minutes, up to 30 minutes for more flavor.
- Watch chicken’s internal temperature; remove from air fryer when it nears 160°F.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket; arrange chicken in single layer for crispiness.
- Keep broccoli florets loose to avoid chewiness, allowing air circulation.
