Ingredients
- 2 chicken breasts sliced in half
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon Italian Seasoning Mix
For the Breading:
- 1/4 cup all purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan
For the topping:
- 1 cup homemade marinara or Pasta Sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan
Instructions
- Slice each chicken breast in half lengthwise and sprinkle with salt and Italian seasoning mix. Set aside.
- Create a breading station by placing flour on a plate. In a deep dish, whisk together egg, salt, and garlic powder. Mix panko breadcrumbs and parmesan on another plate.
- Dust the chicken with flour.
- Then dip it well into the egg mixture, shake off excess egg.
- Last coat the chicken in the parmesan panko mixture.
- Place the chicken on a wire rack and repeat with the remaining chicken.
- Place in the basket of the air fryer and cook at 390 degrees for 5 minutes. Flip the chicken and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Top with marinara sauce, shredded cheese and cook for an additional 3 minutes in the air fryer until the chicken reaches 165 degrees and cheese is melted.
