Air Fryer Croutons
These Air Fryer Croutons are made by tossing bread cubes with garlic powder, Italian herbs, salt, and olive oil, then crisping them to a golden finish in an air fryer. They offer a crunchy texture with flavorful seasoning, perfect for adding a crunchy element to salads or soups. Preparing them in the air fryer allows an even, quick crisp without deep frying.
Ingredients
- 3 cups bread cubed, 150g
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon italian herbs
- ½ teaspoon salt sea salt
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil or use spray oil
Instructions
- Heat the air fryer to 340 degrees F / 170 degrees C.
- Toss the bread cubes with the garlic powder, salt and herbs, then drizzle with the oil and gently toss again.
- Place into the basket of the air fryer in a single layer (you may need to cook them in batches) and cook for 5 minutes (or until golden), shaking halfway through. Check and cook a little longer if you want them darker.
Notes
- Mix seasonings with olive oil first to coat bread cubes uniformly.
- Place croutons in a single layer inside the air fryer basket to promote even crisping.
- Use uniform size bread cubes for consistent cooking results.
- Adjust cook time based on bread type and desired crispness; check halfway through.
- Cook in small batches if your air fryer basket is limited in size.
