Ingredients

  • 3 cups (150g) cubed bread
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon Italian Herbs
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil or use spray oil

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Heat the air fryer to 340 degrees F / 170 degrees C.
  2. Toss the bread cubes with the garlic powder, salt and herbs, then drizzle with the oil and gently toss again.
  3. Place into the basket of the air fryer in a single layer (you may need to cook them in batches) and cook for 5 minutes (or until golden), shaking halfway through. Check and cook a little longer if you want them darker.

Notes

  • To ensure even seasoning, you can whisk the seasonings into the oil before tossing to make sure everything is coated evenly.
  • You’ll need to place the croutons in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  • If your air fryer basket is small, cooking in small batches is best.
  • No matter what shape you cut your bread into, make sure everything is roughly the same size so it cooks evenly when air-fried.
  • Depending on the type of bread and if it's stale, 5 minutes may be too little or too much cooking time.
  • Always check a few minutes in, to gauge the additional cooking time.
  • Perfect on soup recipes or salad recipes.
