Air Fryer French Fries

Nothing is better then fresh cut homemade french fries. My Air Fryer French Fries require very little oil and yield a crispy french fry on the outside and a soft middle.

Ingredients

  • 2 Russet potatoes cut ¼-inch thick
  • 1 teaspoon avocado oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes. Then cut using a knife or vegetable slicer into even slices. Rinse the slices until water runs clear in a bowl. Let soak for 30 minutes in ice cold water.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  3. Pat the potatoes dry. Then toss with avocado oil.
  4. Lay flat in the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes. Flipping halfway through the cooking time (spray with additional oil if they look dry).
  5. Once the french fries are done cooking place back in a bowl and sprinkle with salt and pepper or seasoning of choice. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Oil - You will want to use an oil with a high smoke point like avocado oil or grapeseed oil. You can also use olive oil just know that your fries may burn as you are cooking them at a higher temp then what is recommended for olive oil.
  • Seasonings - If you want to season your fries with something other then salt and pepper I highly suggest Seasoning Salt, Old Bay Seasoning, Cajun Seasoning, Blackening Season, Tanjin, Truffle Powder, dried rosemary to name a few.
  • Toppings - I like to add chili, shredded cheese, and even bacon to my fries!
  • Crispy Fries - If you like crispy fries you may want to increase the cook time by 3-5 minutes.
  • Potatoes - I find that Russet potatoes work best for french fries. You can leave the skin on or take the time to peel it off.
