Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings
Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings offers a method to cook drumettes and flats directly from frozen, seasoning with a chicken rub and black pepper for a crispy, golden-brown finish. The process involves an initial crisping stage, followed by seasoning and further cooking to ensure doneness and flavor. This method allows for convenient preparation of wings without thawing.
Ingredients
- 1 pound chicken wings drumettes and flats, frozen
- chicken rub to taste, low-sodium or seasoning blend
- black pepper to taste, freshly ground
- carrot optional garnish
- celery stick optional garnish
Instructions
- Skip the thaw! Ensure your air fryer is ready to go, and preheat it to 400°F.
- Place the frozen chicken wings in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd for even cooking. Air fry for 6 minutes at 400°F to start the crisping process.
- After the initial cook time, open the basket and gently break apart any wings that are sticking together. Sprinkle your wings with a healthy dose of your chosen chicken rub and a black pepper.
- Continue air frying the seasoned wings for another 12-15 minutes at 400°F. Halfway through, open the basket and flip the wings. They're done when they turn golden brown (and an internal temperature of 165°F).
