Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour divided
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs Italian style
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley dried
  • 1-1 1/2 pounds chicken tenderloin
  • cooking oil spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for at least 5 minutes.
  2. In one shallow dish, add 1/2 cup all-purpose flour.
  3. In a second dish, whisk together the 1 large egg and 2 tablespoons milk.
  4. In a third dish, combine 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs, 1/2 cup Italian style bread crumbs, remaining 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley.
  5. Pat the 1-1 1/2 pounds chicken tenders dry with a paper towel.
  6. Working one at a time, dredge each chicken tender in the plain flour, shaking off any excess. Dip into the egg mixture, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.
  7. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil. Arrange 3-4 chicken tenders in the basket, ensuring they do not overlap. Spritz the tops of the tenders with cooking oil spray to coat the dry flour coating.
  8. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 5-6 minutes. Flip the chicken tenders over and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  9. Repeat with remaining chicken tenders.
  10. Serve hot with a dipping sauce such as alfredo, marinara, or pesto sauce.
