Ingredients

  • 1 large yellow onion
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil or extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of your preferred herb blend like Italian seasoning or Herbes de Provence
  • Salt and freshly-ground black pepper to taste (optional)

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Slice the onion into thin strips. Note that the onions will reduce in size as they cook. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
  2. In a mixing bowl, toss the sliced onions with the oil, your seasoning of choice, and a pinch of salt and pepper if you choose. Mix well to coat the onions evenly.
  3. Arrange the seasoned onions in a single layer in the air-fryer basket or tray. Take care not to overcrowd the onions to allow for even cooking.
  4. Cook in the air fryer for 10 minutes. Give the onions a gentle stir halfway through, or flip them, to ensure even browning.
  5. Remove onions from the air fryer once they have reached a caramelized state with some crispy edges.
