Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups hot water

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) to preheat while you prepare the eggs.
  2. Place a ramekin inside the air fryer basket and pour about 1 cup of hot water into each ramekin.
  3. Carefully crack one fresh egg into each ramekin with the hot water.
  4. Put the ramekins into the preheated air fryer and cook for 8-10 minutes. The cooking time may vary depending on how you like your eggs - less time for a perfect runny yolk, and more time for firmer yolks.
  5. Remove the individual ramekins from the air fryer and let them rest for about 1-2 minutes. Remember, the air fryer eggs will continue to cook slightly during this time.
  6. Using a serving spoon, or rubber spatula, carefully lift the eggs out of the ramekins and serve them on top of avocado toast, French toast, or English muffins for a delicious breakfast or brunch.
  7. Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over each perfect poached egg to taste and enjoy your perfectly cooked poached eggs!

Notes

  • Storage: To store leftover cooked eggs, let them cool completely before transferring them to an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 3 days.
  • Use Fresh Eggs: Fresh eggs will yield the best results with firm whites and vibrant yolks.
  • Adjust Cooking Time: Experiment with the cooking time to achieve your desired level of doneness. For runny yolks, cook for less time, and for firmer yolks, cook for longer.
  • Prevent sticking: Greasing the ramekins lightly with cooking spray or butter can help prevent the eggs from sticking.
  • Be Gentle: When cracking the eggs into the small ramekin, be gentle to avoid breaking the yolks of the cracked egg.
  • Let Them Rest: Allow the cooked eggs to rest for a couple of minutes before serving to finish cooking and firm up slightly. Remember to carefully remove the hot ramekins from the air fryer basket with mittens to prevent burning.
