Air Fryer Ribeye Steak
Air Fryer Ribeye Steak uses ribeye cuts seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powders, cooked in an air fryer until reaching desired doneness. The method produces a steak with a nicely browned exterior and juicy interior. Resting the steak after cooking helps retain its juices. This technique simplifies steak preparation without needing a grill or pan.
Ingredients
- 2 ribeye steak about 1 inch thick, plural
- ½ tsp salt sea salt
- ½ tsp black pepper ground
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
Instructions
- First, preheat air fryer to 390 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Season both sides of steaks with sea salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. Place steaks in air fryer basket.
- Once air fryer is preheated, place basket in air fryer.
- Air fry for about 9 to 11 minutes. The thicker the steak, the longer it will take to cook through.
- Use meat thermometer to test internal temperature. A medium rare steak is about 135 degrees Fahrenheit internally. See blog post above for specific cooking times and temperatures.
- Finally, remove from heat. Allow steak to sit for 5 minutes to retain its juices. Then, top with sliced butter, herbs, or steak sauce if desired.
Notes
- Use boneless ribeye steaks about 1 inch thick for even cooking.
- Cooking times vary; use a meat thermometer to check doneness accurately.
- Rest steaks for 5 minutes post-cooking to retain juices.
- Adjust cooking time for desired doneness: rare ~8 min, medium rare ~9 min, medium ~10 min, medium well ~11 min, well done 12+ min.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
