Ingredients

  • 2 8-ounce boneless ribeye steaks (1 inch thick)
  • salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Pat the ribeye steaks dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This step ensures a better sear when cooking.
  2. Brush both steaks with olive oil, coating both sides evenly. This enhances flavor and aids in the browning of the steak's exterior.
  3. In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. Press this blend onto both sides of each steak, ensuring a generous and even coating. For optimal flavor, press the seasoning into the meat slightly.
  4. Place the seasoned steaks in the fridge for 30 minutes. This resting period allows the flavors to meld, and the meat to absorb the spices. If you like, cover the steaks with plastic wrap to prevent surface dryness.
  5. While the steaks are resting, preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees F. Remove the steaks from the fridge and allow them to come to room temperature on the counter during this time for more even cooking.
  6. Carefully place the steaks in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded.
  7. Cook the ribeyes for a cooking time of 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through for even cooking. Use an instant-read thermometer to check the internal temperature. The thickness of your steaks will determine how fast they cook. See the Notes section below in the recipe card.
  8. Once each of the air-fried ribeyes reaches your desired level of doneness, remove them from the air fryer. Allow them to rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  9. Elevate your juicy steak by pairing it with a pat of butter and delightful side dishes such as roasted vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, steak sauce, or a crisp garden salad.
