Air Fryer Tortilla Chips
Air Fryer Tortilla Chips are crisped triangles of corn tortillas cooked with a light coating of oil and salt in an air fryer. The result is a crunchy snack with a clean corn flavor and a controlled amount of crispiness, achieved with quick cooking and attentive flipping. These chips can be served immediately, making them a convenient homemade alternative to store-bought tortilla chips.
Ingredients
- 8 small corn tortillas (about 8 triangles)
- cooking spray oil based
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Slice the tortillas into triangles.
- On a single layer, place the tortilla triangles on the airfryer basket. Lightly spray with oil and lightly sprinkle the salt. You can add more salt later if needed.
- Set your airfryer at 350 degrees F and cook of 4 to 5 minutes. Open the basket and carefully flip the chips.
- Lightly spray more oil and cook for another 4 to 5 minutes – checking every minute to avoid burning.
- Remove from the basket, transfer to a bowl, and add more salt if needed.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crisping of the chips.
- Cooking time varies by batch size and air fryer model; monitor chips closely especially during the last minutes to prevent burning.
- Flour tortillas cook faster and produce chewier chips but are a viable alternative to corn tortillas.
