Air Fryer Tortilla Chips

Transform corn tortillas using the Air Fryer to make fresh tortilla chips in minutes. Crispy crunchy and tastes just like you get at the restaurant.

Ingredients

  • 8 corn tortillas
  • Avocado oil spray
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cut the corn tortillas in quarters.
  3. Once Air Fryer is done preheating. Spray the cut tortillas with avocado oil spray. Sprinkle a little bit of salt on to the corn tortilla wedges.
  4. Air fry for 5 minutes. During the half way point flip the tortillas over and spray with additional oil. Cook until golden but not burnt.
  5. Remove from Air Fryer and repeat until all your tortillas are used.

Notes

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut the corn tortillas in quarters. Lay them out flat on a baking sheet. Spray the tortillas with avocado oil. Then sprinkle the seasoning on to the corn tortilla wedges. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
  • Oven Baked Tortilla Chips - Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut the corn tortillas in quarters. Lay them out flat on a baking sheet. Spray the tortillas with avocado oil. Then sprinkle the seasoning on to the corn tortilla wedges. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Remove from oven and serve immediately.
  • Storing - If you happen to have leftover tortilla chips you will want to store them in an air tight plastic bag for up to 1 day. Any more then that and they will go stale.
  • Tortilla Strips - If you are looking for tortilla strips for soup you can cut the corn tortillas in thin strips and Air Fry them.
  • Overcrowding - Make sure you don't over crowd the Air Fryer with tortillas. You will need to cook them in batches.
  • Recipe Yield - If using 8 corn tortillas and cutting into quarters the recipe will yield 32 chips. If you use the same amount of corn tortillas then the recipe will yield more.
