Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey 93% lean is best
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup Italian breadcrumbs or panko breadcrumbs gluten-free if needed
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ cup fresh basil finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoon grated parmesan

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 360°F, and lightly grease the basket with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Gently mix with your hands until just combined—avoid overmixing to keep the meatballs tender.
  3. Form 16–20 meatballs using a scooper or your hands and place them on a plate.
  4. Place the meatballs in the air fryer basket, making sure they are spaced out and not overlapping. If needed, cook in two batches.
  5. Air fry for 8–10 minutes, or until fully cooked (internal temperature of 165°F).
  6. Serve with marinara, red sauce, or pesto over pasta, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Garlic Powder: Can substitute with 2 - 3 minced garlic cloves.
  • Breadcrumbs: I recommend Italian breadcrumbs. If you use regular bread crumbs, add 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
  • Storing: Place leftovers into one large or individual airtight container and store them in the refrigerator for 4 – 5 days.
  • Freezing: For best results, freeze turkey meatballs without sauce. Let them cool to room temperature, then add them to a freezer-safe bag and freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Reheating: Reheat for 30 – 90 seconds until warm. You can also reheat by adding to a large pot with red sauce on the stovetop on low.
