- 1 chicken approximately 3 1/2 pounds, whole
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Pinch thyme dried leaves
Instructions
- Ensure the cavity of the chicken is empty; remove any giblets, and pat the chicken skin dry with paper towels for better crispiness.
- In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, kosher salt, paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and dried thyme leaves. Rub this mixture all over the chicken skin, ensuring even coverage for flavor.
- Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket to promote even cooking. Set the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Cook the chicken for 30 minutes, then carefully flip it over to cook breast-side up for an additional 20-30 minutes, or until an instant-read thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
