Airfryer Tandoori Chicken

This Airfryer Tandoori Chicken is a delicious version of the classic Indian dish, cooked using an air fryer instead of a traditional tandoor oven.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless chicken breasts or thighs
  • ¾ cup PLAIN yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 ½ tablespoons tandoori masala
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 1/2 tablespoon garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon fresh mint leaves (optional) chopped

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts/thighs into 1-inch thick pieces. In a large mixing bowl, marinade the chicken with all the ingredients except the mint leaves.
  2. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for best results).
  3. Cut the wooden kebab sticks to the size of the air fryer basket and soak in water for 10 minutes.
  4. Put the chicken on the kebab sticks
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 360°F for 5 minute.
  6. Place skewers into airfryer basket, spray with cooking oil and let it cook for 13-15 minutes.
  7. Optional, sprinkle finely chopped mint over chicken and serve.

Notes

  • You can cook tandoori chicken in a regular oven. Place each piece of chicken  1/2 inch apart on a foil lined and lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 25 minutes, turning the chicken halfway through.
