Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg optional
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the heavy cream and a pinch of nutmeg, and bring the mixture to a low simmer.
  3. Stir in the salt and pepper, then gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
