Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup unsalted butter , softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees and spray a 9x5 loaf pan with baking spray.
  2. To your stand mixer add the butter and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add in the eggs and almond extract until smooth.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add the flour mixture and the milk, alternating 1/2 of each at a time to the stand mixer on the lowest speed setting until just combined.
  6. Pour into loaf pan and spread evenly, then top with the sliced almonds.
  7. With a butter knife, swirl in the almonds just a bit so they mix in a little with the batter.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
