Apple Crumble with Oats
Apple Crumble with Oats, an old-fashioned Autumn dessert that is the very definition of perfection. Perfectly juicy apples with a lovely hint of cinnamon and crispy oat topping; it really can't get better than that. The nation's favourite dessert that is very easy to make at home from scratch with a few simple ingredients.
Ingredients
- 6 cooking apples
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 150 g butter more for greasing the baking dish
- 150 g granulated sugar
- 150 g plain flour
- 50 g porridge oats
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Butter the baking dish well.
- Peel, core and chop the apples into smaller chunks.
- Add them to the baking dish together with the brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Toss well to combine.
- Melt the butter and allow it to cool slightly.
- Sift the flour in a bowl, add the melted butter, vanilla extract, sugar and oats.
- Mix well.
- Top the apples with the oat mixture and bake in the preheated oven at 190 degrees Celsius (375 Fahrenheit) for 30 minutes until golden and bubbling hot.
