Ingredients

- 3 C flour
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 C unsalted butter softened
- 1 ½ C sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 large granny smith apple peeled and shredded
Sugar coating
- ¼ C sugar
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
Cookie Directions
- Peel and shred the apple using a cheese grater. Place Apple shreds into a paper towel and allow the apple to dry out while you make the dough.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Using a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Using a large bowl, beat together the butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until creamy.
- Gradually mix in the dry ingredients.
- Fold in the shredded apples.
- In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.
- Using a ice cream scooper, scoop some dough into your hands and roll into a ball.
- Roll the dough ball into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Place onto cookie sheet.
- Repeat steps with remaining dough.
- Bake in the oven for 11-13 minutes.
- Allow to cool before enjoying!
