Ingredients

  • 3/4 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ 1 ½ cups brown sugar
  • 1 1 large egg plus 1 egg yolk
  • 2 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1½ 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 1/2 cup Chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1/2 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
MAPLE CREAM SAUCE:
  • 1/4 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 2 tablespoons cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • Vanilla Ice cream for serving

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 350℉ and grease an 8x8 baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until combined. Add the eggs and vanilla; beat until light in color.
  3. Whisk in the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the white chocolate chips and nuts.
  4. Spread into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 25-35 minutes or until the center is set. For a gooey center cook around 25 minutes. The bars will set up as they cool. Cook longer for firmer bars.
  5. While blondies are cooking, make the Maple Cream Sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the butter, powdered sugar, cream cheese, and syrup by hand or with a mixer. If you want it thinner you can heat it for a few seconds in the microwave.
  6. Serve blondies warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with the maple cream sauce.

Notes

  • This can be made in a 9x9 baking dish but will be thinner. You can also double the recipe and bake in a 9x13 baking dish.
