Asian Flank Steak Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds flank steak
  • 4 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root
  • zest of 1 lime

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven's broiler to High. Place the flank steak on a broiler pan.
  2. Combine the hoisin sauce, ginger, and lime zest in a small bowl. Brush half of the mixture onto the top of the flank steak.
  3. Broil for 6 minutes, then remove the pan from the oven and turn the steak onto the other side. Brush with the remaining glaze, then return to the oven for another 6 minutes (or until cooked to your liking).
  4. Transfer to a cutting board and let rest for 5 minutes. Slice diagonally across the grain.

Notes

  • To store your Asian Flank Steak, place leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. For longer storage, you can freeze the steak for up to 3 months; wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil.
  • To reheat, thaw frozen steak in the refrigerator overnight. Warm in a skillet over medium heat for a few minutes, or microwave briefly to maintain its juicy texture and rich flavor.
