Autumn Apple Sangria

Ingredients

  • 2 apples cubed
  • ½ cup pomegranate seeds
  • 4 cinnamon sticks + more for serving
  • 1 bottle dry white wine 750 mL
  • 3 cups nonalcoholic apple cider 709 mL
  • ¼ to ½ cup apricot, apple, or pear brandy 60 to 120 mL
  • 1 cup carbonated water 236 mL, club soda

Instructions

  1. Combine: In a large pitcher, stir together all ingredients except carbonated water. If you have time, set pitcher in fridge for a few hours to allow flavors to blend.
  2. Serve: Just before serving, add carbonated water to the pitcher. Serve garnished with a cinnamon stick.

Notes

  • Can sub the brandy for bourbon or a fruity liquor.
  • Optional Add-Ins: chopped plums, chopped pears, sliced oranges.
  • For added fancy, combine a spoonful each of cinnamon and sugar. Dip the rim of your serving glasses into the sangria, then dip it in the cinnamon sugar mix before pouring in the sangria.
