Avocado Chocolate Fruit Dip
Avocado Chocolate Fruit Dip blends ripe avocado with pure maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla, and a pinch of salt, producing a creamy, rich chocolate dip with a smooth texture. Non-dairy milk thins the dip to the desired consistency, making it suitable for dipping fruits like strawberries, bananas, and berries, as well as snacks like pretzels and graham crackers. This healthier dip offers an alternative to traditional chocolate sauces.
Ingredients
Chocolate Dip
- 2 avocado pitted and peeled, large, ripe
- ⅓ cup pure maple syrup
- ⅔ cup cocoa powder cacao powder may be subbed, unsweetened
- ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
- pinch of sea salt
- 2 tablespoons non-dairy milk to thin as needed
For Dipping
- strawberries blueberries, raspberries, sliced bananas
- pretzels
- graham crackers
- cookies crunchy
Instructions
- In a small food processor bowl or blender cup, add avocado, maple syrup, cocoa powder, vanilla extract and salt.
- Blend ingredients until smooth – you may need to scrape down the sides of the bowl or cup a couple of times with a spatula.
- Thin as needed: If you'd like to thin out the fruit dip, add milk 1 tablespoon at a time, to thin to desired consistency. I used 2 tablespoons.
- Serve: Transfer dip to small serving bowl. Serve with assorted fruits, graham crackers, pretzels, crunchy cookies and more. Enjoy!
Notes
- Adjust the sweetness by adding maple syrup to taste, adding more if a sweeter dip is preferred.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 days for best freshness.
- Place plastic wrap directly on the dip surface to minimize browning and maintain color.
- Stir the dip before serving if stored for more than a day to restore smooth consistency.
- Estimate serving size as about 1/4 cup of dip per person.
