Ingredients

  • 2 avocado peeled, seeded and sliced
  • ½ teaspoon lemon juice optional
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • everything bagel seasoning
  • gluten-free bread toasted

Instructions

  1. Mash avocados and lemon juice in a small bowl with the back of a fork and spread the avocado mixture on toasted bread.
  2. Season it with salt and black pepper to taste, and sprinkle some everything bagel seasoning.
  3. Top with desired toppings.

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados that yield slightly when gently squeezed for best texture and flavor.
  • Mash avocados by hand with a fork to maintain good texture; avoid food processors which can make it too mushy.
  • Add lemon juice to the avocado mash to reduce browning and add mild acidity.
  • Adjust salt and pepper seasoning after mashing to suit taste preferences.
  • For added flavor, rub a peeled garlic clove over the toast before spreading avocado.
