Ingredients

  • 1 lice whole-grain bread
  • 1/2 avocado ripe
  • 1 egg large
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • red pepper flakes optional, or hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Toast the bread until golden and crispy.
  2. Mash the avocado in a bowl and season with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat. Crack the egg into the skillet and cook until the whites are set and the yolk reaches desired doneness, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Spread the mashed avocado onto the toasted bread.
  5. Top the avocado toast with the cooked egg. Season with additional salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes or hot sauce.
