Bacon Cheese Fries

These loaded Cheese Fries have crispy bacon, melted cheese, and a delicious homemade jalapeno ranch - a favorite side dish or shareable appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 ounce frozen French fries in bag
  • 1 pound Bacon
  • 1 ounce Colby jack cheese bag, shredded
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 jalapeños seeded and chopped.
  • 2 teaspoons lime juice fresh
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 Tablespoons cilantro chopped.

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper and add the bag of frozen French fries in a single layer.
  2. Bake the French fries according to package directions.
  3. Chop the bacon and add to a frying pan. Cook on medium until the bacon is cooked and crumbly. Remove to a paper towel to drain.
  4. Next, add the sour cream, cilantro, 2 Tablespoons of the diced jalapeno, lime juice, salt, onion powder and garlic powder to a food processor.
  5. Process the ingredients on high until it is smooth and fully integrated.
  6. Once the French fries are done baking, set them aside and reset the oven temperature to 400 degrees.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the French fries and then sprinkle on the bacon.
  8. Place the French fries back into the oven and cook for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Once finished, remove from the oven and drizzle on the jalapeno ranch (if desired) and sprinkle on the diced jalapeno.
  10. Add any additional toppings and serve hot.
  11. Optional toppings: sour cream, chives, freshly diced tomatoes, banana peppers, black olives, etc.
