Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 lices Bacon
  • 1 tablespoon butter unsalted
  • 2 lices whole-wheat bread
  • 2 egg large
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 2 lices American cheese
  • hot sauce optional

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  2. Butter each slice of bread and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and crack the eggs into the pan. Scramble gently, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  4. When the eggs are almost set, place the slices of cheese on top and allow them to melt.
  5. Place one slice of bread, buttered-side down, on a plate. Top with scrambled eggs, optional hot sauce, crispy bacon, and the second slice of bread buttered-side up. Press gently to adhere.
  6. Carefully cook each side of the sandwich in the skillet until golden brown. Serve immediately.
