Bacon-Fried Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 6 lices Bacon chopped
  • 1 medium head green cabbage cored and sliced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped bacon until crisp, about 8 minutes. Remove bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside on a paper towel to drain.
  2. Discard all but 2 tablespoons of bacon grease from the skillet. Add the sliced cabbage to the skillet, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Cook the cabbage in the bacon grease over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it is tender and begins to caramelize, about 10-12 minutes.
  4. Return the cooked bacon to the skillet with the cabbage, stir to combine, and cook for an additional 2 minutes to reheat the bacon and blend the flavors.
