Bake Frozen Broccoli in the Oven

Baking Frozen Broccoli in the Oven is the best way to cook broccoli. It's simple and brings out all the earthy flavors in a way that steaming or boiling just can't. My recipe uses frozen broccoli, so it's perfect for busy weeknights when you need a healthy side dish in a pinch!

Ingredients

  • 4 cups broccoli fresh, chopped, about 2 heads
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Wash and chop broccoli, dry.
  3. Spread on a sheet tray and drizzle with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Toss to combine and coat the broccoli.
  5. Spread the broccoli into an even layer on the sheet tray.
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the broccoli is browned and tender.

Notes

  • Use a High-Quality Oil: Toss the broccoli with a high-smoke-point oil, such as olive or avocado. This helps achieve a crispy texture and prevents burning.
  • Add a Finishing Touch: For extra flavor, you can drizzle a bit of balsamic vinegar or lemon juice over the broccoli right before serving. Fresh herbs like parsley or chives also make a nice addition.
  • Use Parchment Paper: Lining your baking sheet with parchment paper can help prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  • Cut Evenly: Cut the broccoli into uniform pieces to roast at the same rate. Try to keep the florets about the same size to ensure even cooking.
