Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in skin-on chicken breasts
  • kosher salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking pan with aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with kosher salt and black pepper, then place them skin-side up on the prepared pan.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes, until juices start to appear, then reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Brush half of the barbecue sauce over the chicken and return to the oven for 20 minutes.
  5. Apply the remaining barbecue sauce and continue baking until the chicken is fully cooked and the skin is crispy, about 15 to 20 minutes more.
  6. Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, and serve hot.
