Ingredients

  • 6 lices Bacon diced
  • 1/2 onion diced, medium
  • 1 green bell pepper diced
  • 2 cans great northern beans drained and rinsed, 15 1/2 ounces each
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons mustard powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the diced bacon until crisp. Remove bacon and set aside, leaving the drippings in the skillet.
  2. In the same skillet with bacon drippings, sauté the diced onion and green bell pepper until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sautéed onion and green pepper, beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, apple cider vinegar, and seasonings. Mix well, then transfer to a baking dish. Sprinkle the cooked bacon on top. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 1 hour.
