Baked Cabbage Steaks

Made with basic ingredients, these Baked Cabbage Steaks are a wonderfully quick and easy vegetarian side dish (or entree). The caramelized crisp outside layers are a beautiful contrast to the lightly seasoned center.

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

    Cup of Yum
  1. Preheat the oven to 400F degrees.
  2. Slice the cabbage into 1/2-inch-thick rounds and place in an even layer on a large baking sheet.
  3. Brush both sides of each cabbage steak with oil and season to taste with salt and black pepper.
  4. Bake for 17-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Serve hot with Yum Yum Sauce (if preferred).
