Baked Carrot Cake Donuts

These fluffy carrot cake donuts are glazed with a simple cream cheese frosting for a new twist on a classic Easter dessert.

Ingredients

Donut
  • 1 box carrot cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • ¾ cup water
Glaze
  • ¼ cup cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2-4 tablespoon milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.
  2. Prepare donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Mix all donut ingredients together in a large bowl.
  4. Put batter in a large piping bag and fill each donut cup ½ way. Tap pan on the counter to settle the batter.
  5. Bake for 7 minutes or until top of the donuts spring back when you press down on them.
  6. Let donuts cool for 3 minutes then remove from the pan and let cool completely.
  7. Mix all glaze ingredients together, adding milk one tablespoon at a time until the glaze reaches a runny consistency.
  8. Dip the top of the cooled donuts into the glaze and place them on a wire rack to dry.
