Baked Ravioli
Baked Ravioli is a layered casserole featuring frozen cheese ravioli, marinara sauce, and melted mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. The dish is baked until bubbly and golden, creating a comforting, cheesy pasta bake with a crisp top from the browned cheese. This recipe provides a straightforward way to transform ravioli into a baked meal that can be prepared ahead and customized with fresh herbs.
Ingredients
- 24 ounces cheese ravioli see notes, frozen
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
- parsley fresh, optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Coat a 9x13 baking dish with a light coating of cooking spray or oil.
- Place a single layer of ravioli on the bottom of the baking dish.
- Spread 1 cup of the marinara over the noodles and top with 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layer of noodles, marinara and mozzarella again. Sprinkle the top with parmesan.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the casserole is cooked through. If the top is getting dark, you can top with aluminum foil.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
- This recipe uses two 12-ounce packages of frozen cheese ravioli totaling 24 to 30 ounces.
- Fresh ravioli can be substituted but will cook faster; start checking around 10-15 minutes when the cheese bubbles to avoid overcooking.
- Adding dried oregano and parsley on top before baking adds an extra herbal note.
