Baked Turkey Meatballs
Baked Turkey Meatballs combine lean ground turkey with panko breadcrumbs, egg, and Italian seasoning to create tender, browned meatballs. They are flavored with garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoned with salt and pepper, baked until cooked through with a juicy texture inside.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground turkey I used 93% lean
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 garlic minced or ½ teaspon garlic powder, cloves
- 1 Tablespoon Italian seasoning
- ½ Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce or tamari
- ½ teaspoon salt sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper ground
- ¼ cup almond milk unsweetened
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients until everything is evenly incorporated.
- Using your hands, roll meat mixture into 1-2 inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet a few inches apart. Alternatively, you can use a cookie scoop to scoop the meat mixture into balls.
- Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the meatballs are lightly browned on the outside and cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F. Serve warm over spaghetti with your favorite sauce and fresh herbs.
Notes
- If Worcestershire sauce is unavailable, substitute with soy sauce or tamari to maintain umami flavor.
- Panko breadcrumbs or Italian-style breadcrumbs both work well; for gluten-free, almond meal is a suitable alternative.
- Unsweetened non-dairy milk substitutes can replace almond milk if needed.
- Italian seasoning can be recreated by mixing dried rosemary, thyme, oregano, and basil.
