Banana Bread Waffles with Cinnamon
These thick and fluffy banana bread waffles are scented with warm cinnamon and naturally sweetened with ripe bananas. Your family will love this easy breakfast recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 ¾ cups whole wheat pastry flour (or all-purpose flour)
- ¼ cup flaxseed meal ((or additional flour))
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 large banana (mashed)
- 2 cups milk (any kind)
- ½ cup plain whole milk yogurt or oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- banana optional, to serve, banana sliced
- maple syrup
- butter
Instructions
- Pre-heat waffle maker.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together dry ingredients: flour through salt; set aside.
- In a large bowl, mix together liquid ingredients: mashed banana through vanilla. Gently fold in the dry ingredients and mix to combine. If the mixture seems a little dry, add a little more milk or water.
