Ingredients
- 1-1/2 lb paper thin sliced beef sirloin
- 1 medium ripe banana
- 1 small onion sliced
- 1 carrot sliced into thin matchsticks
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons Korean soup soy sauce (gukganjang)
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 green onion chopped
- 2 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
Instructions
- In a shallow pan, such as 9x13 baking dish, mash the banana in and add soy sauces, sugar, garlic, sesame oil, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Add the beef, onion, and carrot and mix well as you massage them to incorporate the seasoning to soak up. Let it sit on the counter for 30 minutes.
- Heat a skillet over high heat, add a portion of meat mixture just to cover the skillet without crowding too much. Stir-fry until the beef is cooked, about 2 minutes. Don't over cook the beef.
- Sprinkle with green onion and sesame seeds at last. Serve hot with rice.
Cup of Yum
Notes
- Do not marinade the beef more than 30 minutes. Otherwise the banana in the marinade will ferment and won't be as pleasant as you hoped for.
