Ingredients
Banana Cake
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup salted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 ¾ cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 to 4 bananas)
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Browned Butter Frosting
- 1/2 cup salted butter
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 Tablespoons milk
Instructions
Banana Cake
- Heat oven to 375 degrees F. (350 degrees F, if using a dark pan) Grease and flour a 10x15-inch jelly roll pan.
- Using an electric stand mixer, or hand-mixer, mix together the sugar, sour cream, butter and eggs until combined. Blend in bananas and vanilla for 30 seconds. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Blend together until combined. Spread evenly in the prepared pan.
- Bake 20 to 24 minutes or until golden brown. Cool completely, then frost with browned butter frosting.

Browned Butter Frosting
- Heat butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Heat past the melting point until it's boiling, and a delicate brown. Remove from heat and immediately add remaining ingredients. Whisk until well combined. Pour and spread over cooled cake. Serve and enjoy!
